ClearProfit

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for using ClearProfit and understanding your store profit data.

Why does my dashboard say there is no profit data yet?

ClearProfit needs Shopify orders and product costs before it can calculate profit. Once orders sync, set a cost of goods sold (COGS) for each product variant in the app.

How is profit calculated?

ClearProfit starts with order revenue, then accounts for product costs, discounts, refunds, taxes, payment fees, and advertising spend. Profit figures are estimates to support business decisions and are not accounting or tax advice.

How do I set product costs?

In ClearProfit, open Expenses and set a COGS value for each product variant. Updating a cost recalculates affected orders so the dashboard reflects the new value.

Can I add advertising spend?

Yes. In Expenses, select Marketing Spends to add spend manually or import a CSV. CSV files require date and spend columns; campaign is optional.

Why do some orders not appear in my totals?

Dashboard totals use the primary currency configured for your shop. Orders in other currencies are excluded, and the selected plan may limit the amount of history available.

How do billing and plan limits work?

Plans are billed through Shopify. The free plan includes 50 orders per month and 30 days of history. Paid plans increase the order allowance and provide full history.

How is my data handled?

ClearProfit uses Shopify data to provide profit reporting and processes required Shopify privacy and deletion requests. Read our Privacy Policy for the full details.
